BTI Whitewater will be offering guided hiking this season in conjunction with the Blue Ridge Center for Environmental research. Enjoy all that beautiful Loudoun County has to offer on a guided scavenger hike through the Blue Ridge Environmental Center. BTI Whitewater will be providing guides who are eager and waiting to share their knowledge of the area, wildlife and plant life with the community. This hike is sure to broaden horizons and create lasting memories for all. The beginner to intermediate hike will include wetland areas, views of historic cabins that have been “reclaimed by nature,” and two creek crossings. Participants on this trip are encouraged to bring binoculars, as this area is home to 130 species of birds. The intermediate to experienced hike will include areas of wetlands, two creek crossings, and a beautiful overlook view of the Shenandoah and Loudoun Valleys. Also, this hike will take participants through butterfly ally. The butterfly alley clearing contains many varieties of wildflowers and 60 species of butterflies. The 7 hour advanced hike will take participants on a tour of both the north and south end of the Blue Ridge Environmental Center.
