We are excited to have Bluemont  at our wine bar for the first time! They have a variety of wines from sweet fruit wines to signature Virginia white wines such as the Viognier and Vidal Blanc and signature reds like the Norton and Cab Franc.

Please visit them in our wine bar from 2:30-7pm this Saturday and Sunday! Wine can be enjoyed on our patio either by the glass or open a bottle to enjoy under the gazebo.

Fabbioli winemaker, Doug Fabbioli got his wine making start and inspiration while still in college in the fingerlakes region in upstate New York. Later, he and college sweetheart, Colleen Comento ventured to Buena Vista, CA in Sonoma Valley where they lived and worked in the vineyards learning more about wine and the business itself. Family later brought them back to Virginia where Doug began networking with local vitners and worked at Doukenie for roughly ten years further cultivating his talents for red wine making. He remains a huge force in the industry helping to consult younger wineries to help them get started. His philosophy is simple, “we will be no where as an industry if we do not collaborate and help one another as a whole”.

In 2000, they spotted the 25 acres on Lime Stone School Road in Leesburg, VA  that would soon be home to Fabbioli Cellars. They now have approximately 8 acres of vineyards along with raspberry and blackberry bushes. The number of wine types grow by the year as does his creativity. Assistant wine maker, Melanie Natoli, has been doing a fantastic job using her creativity and passion to assist Doug.

On Saturday, Lisa will be pouring Cab Franc, Chambourcin (cold), Raspberry Merlot and or two 2011 debuts wines! She will have Fabbioli’s first white wine called nothing other than “Something White,” which is a blend of Triminette and Vidal Blanc, and our ever popular 2010 Rose, which was not fermented on it’s skins so this years vintage has less acidity on the palate and more of a subtle strawberry jam finish. Ideal for a hot summer day!

Please bring your friends and spend a day on the river, raft, kayak, tube and the sip delcious wine on our patio as you listen to live music! The opened bottles of wine must stay on the patio, and if you smoke please do so outside the patio.

The first known s’more recipe documentation dates back to a Girl Scout handbook published in 1927. Loretta Scott Crew, is credited for the recipe when she made it for the Girl Scouts during this time.

For the first time this year, BTI Whitewater is offering camping along the Shenandoah River. The fee is $25.00 per site and we have over 25 sites to choose from. In consideration of being allowed to participate in Loudoun Adventures, LLC, Butts Tubes, Inc, d/b/a BTI Whitewater, Zip Line (the “Activity”), I represent that I understand the nature of this Activity and that I am qualified, in good health, and in proper physical condition to participate in the Activity, which involves travel on Zip Lines (sliding on elevated steel cables using safety harnesses).  I agree to only participate while wearing the protective and safety equipment required, to follow the instructions of the guides and, if I believe it unsafe, to immediately discontinue my participation. I know that this Activity involves risks of serious bodily injury, including permanent disability, paralysis and death, and damage or loss of personal property which may be caused by my own actions or inactions, by others participating in the Activity, or by the conditions in which the Activity takes place including, but not limited to, the risks of falling; travel through and over rough terrain by foot or other means while participating; the failure or misuse of equipment; the risks that injuries may occur in remote areas without adequate medical facilities; collision with other people or objects; and bites from insects, snakes or animals. I realize that there may be other risks not now known or not readily foreseeable but I fully accept and assume all such risks, whether or not identified above, and I assume all responsibility for injury, loss or damage which I suffer as a result of my participation.

The Releasees identified below may also have been requested to arrange for my participation in activities or services, including lodging or meals, provided by others (“Additional Services”) and I acknowledge that the Releasees have made no representations whatsoever as to the safety or quality of those Additional Services.

I HEREBY RELEASE Loudoun Adventures , LLC, Butts Tubes, Inc, d/b/a  BTI Whitewater and all property owners any parent, related and/or subsidiary corporations, partnerships, companies and entities; their respective administrators, directors, agents, officers, volunteers, and employees; other participants; sponsors; advertisers; and the owners and lessors of the property on which the Activity takes place (the “Releasees”) from all liability, claims, demands, losses, costs and damages arising or asserted to arise, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from the Activity or the Additional Services whether resulting from negligence or otherwise, including rescue operations, and will indemnify and hold harmless the Releasees as to all such matters.

I consent to the use without compensation by Releasees of photographs and video recordings made of me or the minor identified below while participating in the Activity or using the Additional Services without compensation and agree that all such materials including negatives, are the sole property of the Releasees.

I agree that the exclusive venue of any suit or claim against the Releasees for any reason whatsoever shall be the Magistrate or Circuit Courts of Loudoun County, Virginia; consent to the jurisdiction of such Courts as to any action against me to enforce this Agreement; and agree that this Agreement is to be enforced in accordance with the law of the State of Virginia.

I have read the foregoing Release, Assumption of Risk And Indemnity Agreement; understand that I will give up substantial rights by signing it; sign it freely and without any inducement or assurance of any nature not stated herein; intend it to be a complete and unconditional release, assumption of risk and indemnity to the greatest extent allowed by law; and agree that if any portion of this Agreement is held invalid the remainder shall continue in full force and effect.

Whitewater rafter’s tastings are FREE, tubers pay $2 and anyone else doing another activity or dropping by off the VA wine trail pays $5. You can buy a wine by the glass or a bottle, pop the cork and enjoy it under our new pergola over our patio!

Loudoun Valley is located in Waterford, VA and features traditional Virginia wine from the red French-American hybrid Chambourcin, which dates back to the colonization of Jamestown to Traminette, a delicious refreshing white wine for those warm summer evenings! The North Branch Trip is this weekend! Spaces available!

We are going to the North Branch of the Potomac River dam release, and offering an all inclusive rafting trip running from Barnum, WV to Bloomington, MD. This trip is packed with excitement! It will include mostly class II-III rapids throughout, an optional 40ft cliff jump, wave trains and, of course, the beautiful scenery and pure water of Western Maryland and West Virginia.

Included in the price for this trip is transportation to and from the site, shuttle service throughout the day, bag lunch, use of a wetsuit and splash top, helmet, paddle, personal flotation device and an experienced guide in every raft. This is all available with no hidden costs for $69.99 per person!

The North Branch trip is a real escape from the day to day. You will check-in at BTI’s regular location at 10985 Harpers Ferry Road, Purcellville, VA (an hour outside of Washington, D.C.). Then board the BTI bus for a trip into the seclusion and serenity of the wilderness. The drive to Barnum, WV is approximately a two hour ride. Then you will embark on a fun and challenging rafting adventure.

There will also be North Branch trips available in the Fall, please check back for specific dates.

This is not an overnight trip, unless you choose to drive your own vehicle to the site. There will be two trip times available on Saturdays and one trip on Sunday. Now that we offer camping please feel free to inquire prior to your trip and you are welcome to camp that weekend.

No previous rafting experience is necessary. All participants must be, at least, 5 years or 50 pounds.
